Safe & Sound

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

We’re safe and sound….

I could fill your cup
You know my river won’t evaporate
This world we still appreciate

You could be my luck
Even in a hurricane of frowns
I know that we’ll be safe and sound

We’re safe and sound….

I could show you love

In a tidal wave of mystery

You’ll still be standing next to me

No Place I’d Rather Be

We’re a thousand miles from comfort, we have traveled land and sea
But as long as you are with me, there’s no place I’d rather be
I would wait forever, exalted in the scene
As long as I am with you, my heart continues to beat…

We staked out on a mission to find our inner peace
Make it everlasting so nothing’s incomplete
It’s easy being with you, sacred simplicity
As long as we’re together, there’s no place I’d rather be..

Your Forever

So Give me your forever

please your forever

not a day less will do

from YOU

We can all be Better People

“What I have could be a message
Or just some words from my heart
My respect to the ones making changes
For all the lives they’ll give their all

Like giving food to the hungry
Giving hope to the needy
Giving life to a baby, giving care for free
Cause there is freedom around us

We have everything we need and I will care for you
Cause you cared for me
And we all have opinions, some of them get through
But there’s better people with more good to do, good to do.” -Xavier Rudd

Spirit Bird

Soldier on, soldier on my good country man.

Keep fighting for your culture, now keep fighting for your land.

I know its been thousands of years and I feel your hurt and I know its wrong and you feel you’ve been chained and broken and burned.

And those beautiful old people, those wise old souls, have been ground down for far too long.

By that spineless man, that greedy man, that heartless man, deceiving man, government hand taking blood and land, taking blood and land.

Still they can, but your dreaming and your warrior spirit lives on.

It is so so so strong, in the earth in the trees, in the rocks, in the water, in your blood and in the air we breathe.

Soldier on soldier on my good country man. Keep fighting for your children now keep fighting for your land.

Youtube video of the song “Spirit Bird” by Australian singer and songwriter Xavier Rudd. In this song, like in many of his other ones, he explores the socially conscious themes of spirituality, humanity, environmentalism and the rights of aboriginal communities, who continue to be persecuted after hundreds of years. Their people are wounded but the aboriginal spirit is stronger by the day. It lives inside a lot of people in industrial civilization who listen to their wisdom. After all, we are working for the same cause and fighting the same struggle, all working to make the world a better place. We are brothers and sisters, and together, we must continue on with the monumental work of preserving the greatest miracle in the universe: life. Put on some headphones and take the 7 minutes to enjoy this wonderful and emotionally charged song. I hope this song speaks to you. Listen to its words and try to understand its meaning. Like Mr. Jalbert, a wonderful teacher I had the pleasure of learning with, used to say, “La Lucha Continua”, “The struggle continues”.

Make the Money don’t let the Money Make YOU

“Humbled by the road, I’m realizing I’m not important
See life’s a beautiful struggle, I record it
Hope it helps you maneuvering through yours and
That’s why we stay in the lab at night
I’ve been staring into this pad for over half my life
A true artist won’t be satisfied
So I guess that’s the sacrifice
And I say……

Make the money, don’t let the money make you
Change the game, don’t let the game change you
I’ll forever remain faithful”

“We live in the world that your propaganda made, but where you think you are strong you are weak. Your lies tell us the truth we will use against you. Your secrecy shows us where we will strike. Your weapons reveal your fears for all to see. From Cairo to Quito a new world is forming. The power of people armed with the truth.” – Julian Assange

Get On Your G.R.I.N.D

“So it’s not about fame, and fortune
It’s about believing and believing in yourself
And understanding that this life is life
It’s liberty and the pursuit of happiness
And happiness isn’t about getting what you want all the time
It’s about loving what you have
So get ready it’s a new day” -Asher Roth

Hallelujah

One of my favorite performances of all time is of Jeff Buckley. He sings with his heart and passion flows out in every note. Great music has the power to make us truly feel, embarking us on a roller-coaster of emotions. This song is sad and melancholic, it’s beautiful and inspiring, and his performance gives me the chills. The outpouring of his soul into the music warms the heart and soothes the spirit. Thank you Jeff
